Cleaning a residential clothes dryer takes more than simply clearing out the appliance’s lint trap. Lint and other debris from garments can accumulate in the vent, clogging the duct. Clogs of lint could compromise the efficiency of your dryer or even start a fire.
Here is a picture of the first handful of lint and debris we pulled out of our customer’s roof dryer vent when we removed the screen.
A good rule of thumb is to have your dryer exhaust vents inspected and cleaned by a professional at least once per year.
