Today. PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN. Try this instead.

1. Make a list of 10 things that are going right.

Not someday. Right now.

2. Take a 10-minute walk without headphones.

Notice what you haven’t been noticing.

3. Write down one thought that’s been draining your energy.

Then ask: Is it true? Is it helpful?

4. Text someone you love.

Not because you need something. Just because.

5. Make your favorite drink and sit down while you drink it.

No multitasking.

6. Write down three things you’re carrying today.

Choose one to put down.

7. Open a window.

Take five deep breaths. Stay there for a minute.

8. Write a note to future you.

What do you hope she remembers?

9. Ask yourself:

“What would make today feel 10% easier?”

Then do that.

10. Spend ten minutes doing something that brings you joy.

Not productivity. Not self-improvement. Joy.

Truthfully. We don’t need more information. Or the constant distraction.

We need more presence.

Put your phone down. Your life is waiting for you.

We spend a lot of time noticing what’s not finished, what’s challenging us, and what’s still left to be done.

Today, try something different. Take 30 seconds. Just 30 seconds. And write down three things that are going right.

Not perfect, not extraordinary, not amazing.

Just right.

Mine:
Slow mornings before the day gets busy. A conversation and Coaching session that left me feeling energized and encouraged. And a body that lets me move, walk and show up when I need to.

This isn’t about ignoring the hard stuff. Or minimizing the truly amazing, newsworthy stuff.

It’s about training ourselves to notice the every day good stuff too.

It seems like it’s just a mug.

But it isn’t.

Rituals are small, intentional actions that signal something to our brain and body. When you reach for your favorite mug every morning, you’re not just choosing a cup—you’re creating familiarity, comfort, and a moment of predictability in a world that can feel busy and uncertain.

Rituals increase our sense of control, and help us transition between activities. They create quiet intentional moments throughout the day. Your favorite mug might tell your brain:

It’s time to slow down. Or
It’s time to start the day. Or
This moment is for me. Or
I don’t have to rush everything.

The beauty of rituals is that they aren’t hard. They actually make life feel easy because they remove decisions and create pockets of calm. Instead of constantly asking, “What should I do?” your ritual becomes a familiar path.

And maybe most importantly, they help us notice our lives.

The favorite mug. Or
The evening walk. Or
Fresh flowers on the counter. Or
Lighting a candle before journaling. Or
Sitting in the same chair with a book.

None of these things are life-changing alone. But together, they create a life that feels more grounded, more intentional, and more enjoyable.

Most often ease isn’t in making big changes.

Most often it’s found in repeating the small things that remind us who we are and what matters.

That favorite mug? It’s not really about the mug.

It’s about creating a moment you can count on.
