Timelapse from the total solar eclipse today. Due to the light hazy cloud cover, you can clearly see the shadow of the moon pass overhead. It's especially dramatic at the end of the eclipse. The shadow is moving about 2300 miles per hour relative to the ground.

Due to the hazy cloud cover, the shadow of the moon is clearly visible overhead as it comes and goes through the duration of the eclipse. It's especially dra...

It's been a while since posting new content - 2020 did not exactly go as planned. But here's a downloadable PDF with a digital model of the HAPP that you can manipulate. You can select from the parts list and view every part, down to the nuts and bolts.

You will need to download the PDF and open using Adobe Acrobat - it won't render in your web browser. Enjoy!

Well the global pandemic has not been good for flying the HAPP this spring, so we decided to have a little fun. Enjoy!

Big thanks to cameraman Will Davies.

Well the global pandemic has not been great for flying the HAPP into the stratosphere this spring, so we decided to have a little fun with a Garmin VIRB 360 ...

The Sky is Not the Limit: 20 miles from Earth at a temperature of -58 °F doesn't initially sound like the most ideal place for shooting a video! 😛 🎥 Despite this, the team at HAPP Research are taking on the challenge by recording a 360° video of Earth in a totally new way. They are sending a "High Altitude Photography Platform" into space to accrue data on vehicle attitude, accelerations, and spin rates. Bosch sensors drive its jet stabilization system — a crucial component! 😉 Watch the video and learn more on their site here: http://bit.ly/HAPP-Project

The 360 VR video from the last mission is coming soon... it’s way cooler than the “normal” video I already published, especially if you have VR goggles. Stay tuned - even with a fast PC, editing and rendering 5K and 8K VR video takes a lot of time. I had to build a new PC just for this purpose!

July 20, 1969: Humans first set foot on another celestial body, our Moon. HAPP Research proudly salutes the thousands of men and women in the United States space program who made it happen through their intelligence, fortitude, and intrepidity. Goodspeed Apollo 11 and all those who came before and since!

Some folk said the mission video was too long so here's a 90 second version. Short and sweet :-)
