Let’s talk about picking a direction…

When it comes to a semi-open brief as proposed by there are so many avenues to take. I’ve found that constraints make for the best design, but when there are none, it’s an amazing chance to lean into your favorite current branding.
•
Noted is a stationary brand which means the base color should be easy to write on. I wanted to use this opportunity to play it simple by using an off-white and lovely medium blue. (This reminds me of porcelain) I’ve been working with funky fonts recently and wanted to tone it back to a sophisticated serif. This was all based on a vision I have been dying to execute… but after I finished, I found I lost that hankering… so until another starts, it might be hard to pick a direction with little company philosophy to go off of. After all a company’s philosophy is what drives branding & identity.

These mock-ups are absolutely beautiful. This challenge from was meant to be plastic free - but have you ever tried finding non-plastic cosmetic mock-ups? There we’re definitely alternatives that could have qualified as plastic free, but the beautiful shadow work here was irresistible!
