Yesterday during our launch attempt we experienced an off nominal abort during ignition resulting in significant damage to parts of the rocket and making it unable to be launched.

We are extremely proud of the hard work the team put in and so grateful to all of our supporters who helped get Limelight to the launch rail. We look forward to applying the lessons learned from Limelight to our next project.

Our launch window is open from Saturday May 16th, 8AM - 3PM PDT and from Sunday May 17th, 8AM to 3PM! The stream will go live just after 8AM PDT each morning. Over the last few months, MASA has successfully completed Limelight’s coldflow campaign! The data collected from these tests allowed us to validate Limelight as flight-ready. We are so proud and excited for the launch of Limelight on May 16th or 17th!

This past Saturday, MASA participated in the FEMMES Winter Explore event, connecting with over 120 curious 4th–6th graders through hands-on STEM activities! Shreshta Prabhu (BS EE’ 27), and Abbie Van Noord (BS/MS ME’ 25/’ 26), led a hands-on balloon hovercraft activity and introduced students to the basics of rocketry!

Through outreach events like these, MASA remains committed to giving back to the community and inspiring curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm for STEM and aerospace among K–12 students.
