From 1932 to 1972 the U.S. government ran a secret medical study in Alabama.
Black men were told they were receiving treatment for bad blood.
They were not.
They were being observed — untreated — so researchers could document how syphilis progressed when nothing was done to stop it.
Penicillin was discovered in 1928.
It was widely available by 1947.
The government knew it worked.
They kept the study running for twenty-five more years.
It took an AP reporter to break the story in 1972.
It took another twenty-five years for a presidential apology.
THE PATTERN THAT NEVER CHANGES: the institution knew. The institution continued. The institution was eventually exposed. The institution apologized — decades later when the people harmed were mostly gone.
This is not the only time.
It is just the one they officially admitted.
🟢 The documented record is longer than most people know. We are going through it.
