We’re going to keep this one short and sweet:

90% of IG users follow BUSINESSES on Instagram.

Translation: They want to hear from businesses when they’re scrolling their IG feed.

They very well might be interested in buying something - RIGHT NOW - if the right content and offer were placed in front of them.

Our question for you:

Will you be there in front of them?

A recent study reports Instagram will net $33.7 billion dollars in ad revenue in 2020. (Up from $28 billion in 2019.)

What’s this mean for you?

It means advertisers are spending billions on IG ads because they’re working.

Here’s our question for you:

Are you?

Are you taking advantage of IG ads? And the ROI arbitrage available to all of us right now?

IG Ads are not complicated:

Pay a certain amount for an impression or a click.

A percentage of those impressions or clicks turn into buyers.

Ensure you’re grossing more revenue than you’re spending on the ads, and you’re profitable - you’ve got a growing business.

We shoot for a 3:1 ROAS (return on ad-spend).

In certain niches, we find we can do much better than 3:1.

The point here is IG ads are working but they won’t work forever.

SmallBizTrends.com reports: Looking to increase their share of the market, Maes Beer knew they needed to do something different. While looking for ideas they knew they could only count on two things – family and social media.
They offered a free barrel of their beer to everyone with the last name ‘Maes’ on one condition…they had to share with 20 of their closest friends.
Naturally this took off like…well, like free beer often does.
The result?
More than 7,000 people changed their last names to Maes on Facebook. Maes Beer received over 75,000 Facebook likes in a single day…and 500,000 visits to their page in six weeks.
It’s common for brands to think “my business is different” and that’s why social media won’t work for it.

It would have been really easy for Maes Beer to think the same.

With 75,000 new fans now, we think they’re glad they didn’t.

Which celebrity has the most fake followers? I’ll get to the list in a second but first, a key point: How many businesses don’t GO HARD growing their business on social media because they think they’re too small? Or because they can’t compete with the big boys and girls? As you read this list of “Celebrities With The Most Fake Followers” below, think about the businesses out there who haven’t started scaling their social media because they were intimidated by celebrities and “big” accounts. (Maybe you’d even fall into that category.)

Here’s the list, reported from Bazaar.com:

1. Ellen Degenerres - 49% of Ellen’s followers were found to be fake.
2. Kourtney Kardashian - 46% of Kourtney’s followers were found to be fake.

Could one video series increase your online sales 700%? One video series did that for Blendtec, an online retailer of blenders.

Blendtec released a series of videos called “Will It Blend?” The premise was simple: Find weird stuff. Put it in the Blendtec blender. Watch to see if the blender could blend the weird stuff up.

What kind of weird stuff did Blendtec try to blend? An iPad. A Justin Bieber CD. And an Amazon Echo (to name a few).

The point for you is this: You may think you’re in the “t-shirt business”, the “coffee business” or the “health business”. But on social media, you’re not. On social media, you’re in the ATTENTION BUSINESS. Because the more attention you can grab, the more prospective buyers you get. Now of course…

You don’t want any random attention. You want the attention of people who would be interested in what you have to offer, so there needs to be a strategy driving your social media content.

But look at Blendtec: While all their competitors kept marketing the same way, telling audience about how good the smoothies taste and how easy the blender is to clean, Blendtec acted BOLD and created a video series that would be ENTERTAINING for audiences...and a series that would DEMONSTRATE how powerful their blender was.

Every other blender company could have done it first and increased their sales by 700%. But they didn’t. Blendtex got their first. Think about your competitors. Who’s going to act BOLD and get there first? Since you’re reading our agency’s Instagram page, we’re pulling for you :)

We hear it all the time: “It’s impossible to grow on social media.”

Or “No one likes or followers our content, what’s the point in posting, it doesn’t work”.

We at the BLANK AGENCY respectfully disagree.

In fact, we think the businesses saying this are plain wrong. And are missing out on a big daily rush of new customers.

Repeat after me: “SOCIAL MEDIA DOES WORK, I may have just been using it the wrong way.”

That wasn’t so bad, was it? :)

Let me give you a great case study: Have you heard of Jason Capital?

Jason Capital’s Instagram has grown to 1.6 million followers in 18 months. (An average of about 83,000 new followers per month. Or 2,700 followers a day. Imagine if your account was growing by 2,700 followers per day!)

What’s Jason’s secret?

He doesn’t force his beliefs or ideals on social media.

He accepts social media for what it is.

He accepts that yes, it is incredibly hard to grow organically on social media. BUT…

It’s incredibly easy to do paid growth on social media and attract targeted followers to your page, who engage with your content and are interested in purchasing your products.

And that’s how Jason has grown to 1.6 million followers in 18 months.

By paying for the followers.

And Jason is very upfront about this.

His model goes like this:

1) Work with a very reputable agency that does his social growth for him, sending him the types of followers he wants
2) Share fun, entertaining educational content with those followers, thus building a relationship with those followers
3) Make those followers offers to buy his products
4) Take the revenue from those sales and reinvest back into more growth

Jason has followed this plan for 18 months now and he shows no signs of slowing down.

You don’t have to do it exactly as Jason did.

You may not want to go as fast as Jason did. You may want to go faster.

You’re about to discover the #1 “trick” that makes people buy on social media.

We put quotations around “trick” because it’s not a trick at all.

It’s obvious.

And chances are, you’re not doing it.

A recent survey asked people what brands could do on social media to make them make a purchase…

The #1 response?

Be Responsive.

That was it.

Just BE RESPONSIVE.

We've spent a lot of time auditing a lot of social media accounts.

We see brands who do great videos or pictures or stories.

But almost all drop the ball in being responsive to their followers.

They don’t respond to every comment.

They don’t reply to every DM.

And so they leave their followers hanging.

And you know where those followers go?

To the competitor who does take the 20 seconds to RESPOND TO THEM.

Social media is not a megaphone.

You’re not yelling out to a faceless mob.

Social media is a conversation.

And the more conversations you have, the more conversions you’ll make.

We’ve known this for a whole with our clients.

But now it’s not just us saying it.

Your audience is saying it too.

P.S. In the same survey, the BOTTOM TWO things brands could do on social media to make people purchase was ““interesting visuals” and “being funny”.

As in followers don’t buy because your visuals are “epic”. Or because your content is cute and funny.

So you can’t use the excuse anymore that social media “can’t work” for you because you don’t have the time or resources to make visually-appealing content or funny content.

Customers just said they don’t care about that.

They care far more about you RESPONDING to them.

We predict if you can just talk with them, you will watch your sales soar.

And we’re not talking out of our behind.
