Before initial consultation calls with potential clients, we sign up for their email lists. Maybe a little sneaky on our part, but we do it because we know there's a pretty good chance they will need our help with email marketing too. More often than not, we either don't receive a welcome email because they haven't set it up, or the welcome email is weak and needs some WOW.
Here are a few tips for setting up a stellar welcome email.
WELCOME them by name. Set up the personalization option - personalized emails are 50% more likely to be opened.
Make it visually appealing. Create a branded welcome graphic that really pops. Even better, include a short welcome video.
Create a sense of community and exclusivity by sharing a little more about your company, without a hard sell. Tell them what they can look forward to in future emails.
Offer an email exclusive discount code.
Invite them to follow you on social media. Include the links to your Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, etc.
Invite them to subscribe to your podcast, Facebook group, or include a link to a popular blog post.
