Tomorrow (September 9th, 2024) marks one month since Ujjwal Singh's final day with TSI Power Corporation. It will also be Ujjwal Singh's first date working for our sister company, TSi Power Pvt Ltd.
Ujjwal came to us as a young man (just 23) directly out of graduate school (MSEE, University of Texas at Dallas) seven years ago. We were his very first employer, and while Ujjwal had lived in America briefly for graduate school, he was suddenly thrust into a deeply rural and authentically American environment for the first time.
Ujjwal came to us with a good education, but we did not really know what to expect. Additionally, while engineering school provides an essential technical and mathematical foundation, it does not truly teach you to be an engineer the way experience at work does. We were thus dealing with a real greenhorn professionally and culturally.
Fortunately for us, Ujjwal exceeded expectations and rose to the occasion. He had the good fortune to work under the very talented and experienced Bob Schneider, who at that time directed TSI Power's formidable engineering department. Under Bob's guidance Ujjwal blossomed into an effective journeyman engineer able to perform effectively on projects with limited supervision.
Bob Schneider departed TSI Power in 2021, and without being properly prepared or trained for the position Ujjwal was promoted to run our engineering department at just 27 years of age and with only four years work experience under his belt!
Despite Ujjwal's youth, he was the only logical choice to captain our technical team. That is because in addition to his solid engineering foundation, Ujjwal is a highly effective communicator (verbal and written). Furthermore, unusually for an engineer, Ujjwal is a true people person.
Rounding out Ujjwal's talents, he has a head for business rather than being rooted merely in technical matters. Ujjwal is comfortable with risk, has an appreciation for financial issues, and again unlike many engineers has an appreciation for the marketing and sales side of business. This made Ujjwal an excellent colleague to work with in TSI Power's executive leadership.
Finally, Ujjwal has a talent for organization and project management. This and all of the above allowed him to excel and thrive. We were very grateful to have him at TSI Power.
During Ujjwal's tenure at TSI Power he participated in many important successful projects including but not limited to:
• RAPTOR technology platform (Sparrowhawk is now approaching completion thanks to his leadership)
• REM-1000 Raptor Eye Monitor
• Spectrum ILC program
• Unified ILC program
• ATS refresh program
• URSUS next-generation outdoor UPS
• Successful implementation of ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system
It should by now be very clear that Ujjwal is a very talented young executive with a bright future ahead of him. We are sure that he will thrive and greatly contribute to the success of TSi Power Pvt Ltd.
I would be remiss in not also noting Ujjwal's personal qualities.
Unusually for many immigrants, Ujjwal deeply embedded himself into American culture and our local community. Perhaps in a place like Antigo he simply had no other choice.
Ujjwal has many more friends in Antigo than I do and is greatly missed not just at work but throughout the area. He developed an interest in outdoor sports and adventure, and through this was able to participate in exciting adventures such as flying in a small general aviation aircraft to Colorado to go skiing with a friend.
Ujjwal is known for being very friendly, personable, jovial, loyal, and honest. My wife and I were pleased to have him over for dinner at our home many times, and we can also report that Ujjwal prepares a very good butter chicken.
I am therefore not only pleased to have had Ujjwal as a professional colleague (whom I hope to continue working with for another forty years), but am truly proud to call Ujjwal my friend.
My wife and I strongly believe that Ujjwal will make an excellent husband and father, and we commend his parents for raising such a fine son.
Sincerely,
David Nystrom
President
