Not everything needs to be concrete. Check out the update to the old MCM gold starburst formica/laminate counters. When I moved in I made them look like rusted metal, but is screamed for another update. Here is the transition. Letting this digest & see if it is still talking before the final coat of sealer.

When you love what you do, is it work? Taught myself to tile (concrete treads and tiled risers). P.S. even the fire place hearth and face are concrete.
