If you aren't taking rodent problems seriously, this can be the result. We've seen damage this bad-and worse in our local region. Having a proactive attitude is far less expense than having a reactive attitude...in this case, one that will cost the home owner somewhere in the ballbark of $100,000 (homeowner's insurance does NOT cover rodent or wildlife damage)

NEWS: Riverside County Health Officials Report Increase in Rabid Bats, Urge Precautions for People, Pets

Health officials with Riverside University Health System — Public Health (RUHS-PH) are warning Riverside County residents about the risk of contracting rabies, particularly from bats.

Bats are the most common source of rabies in the state. So far this year, 18 rabid bats have been reported in Riverside County, an increase from 15 rabid bats confirmed by the Public Health lab in 2024.

Pasadena city officials urged the public to be cautious after a rabid bat was found on Thursday.

The bat was found near the intersection of S. San Rafael and Nithsdale Road, according to a news release from Pasadena spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.
City officials say that there have been no reported human cases in the city and that the risk of exposure to rabies remains low.

We strongly believe in being the change we wish to see.

The pet overpopulation issue is heartbreaking, and there are no easy answers. Apple Valley Animal Shelter not only provides services for companion animals and livestock, but also-for exotic animals and wildlife. Many exotic/wild animals owe their very lives to their efforts in finding qualified rehabilitators for sick and injured wildlife, and qualified, forever homes for exotics, something much of the public may not be aware of.

LOCAL BUSINESSES: This is a challenge to all local businesses!
