On Saturday, May 16, Rotarians helped Appleton Downtown extend the Marigold Mile into downtown Appleton by planting dozens of marigolds at Houdini Plaza and surrounding areas.

The new flowers will add a bright pop of color and bring some summer joy to the heart of downtown.

Join us on April 28 at noon at Holidays Pub on Richmond in Appleton.

Our speaker will be Tony Walter, presenting on his latest book, War Year Champions: The Welcome Diversion of the 1944 Green Bay Packers.

The book explores the 1944 season, when the Green Bay Packers captured their sixth NFL title during World War II — offering a powerful look at how football served as a meaningful diversion during a challenging time in history.

Tony spent 40 years as a journalist with the Green Bay Press-Gazette, serving in roles including sports editor, metro editor, opinion page editor, reporter, and columnist. Since retiring, he has authored four books focused on the Packers and their legacy.

We look forward to learning more about this unique chapter in Packers history.

Rebuilding Together Fox Valley is a nonprofit that provides critical home repairs and modifications at no cost to those in need, helping people live safely and independently in their homes.

It was impressive to see the impact they are making in our community.
