We got one of those “Top 3 Businesses” letters in the mail today from BusinessRate.

And listen… I fully understand these things are mostly a marketing gimmick designed to convince small business owners to spend $600 on a plaque. 🥸

So no, we will not be purchasing the deluxe crystal titanium “you’re special” award package.

BUT…

I’d be lying if I said it still wasn’t kinda cool to see The Laundry Gal listed. When you build something load by load, customer by customer, it’s nice knowing people are talking about your business in a positive way, even if the letter itself is basically scam mail with a logo.

We’ll keep our money and continue investing it into better service, faster turnaround times, and enough coffee to survive our upcoming Camp season.

Well… The Laundry Gal is officially on Community Votes. 😅

And yes, I’m currently the only laundry service listed which means technically I could win by default… but where’s the fun in that?

Our hearts are incredibly heavy.

I’ve known Beth for almost half my life. We worked together years ago, she held my son when he was just a baby, and she even worked alongside my mom. She has been a part of so many chapters of my life.

More recently, Beth was such a supporter of The Laundry Gal, always encouraging, sharing ideas, and cheering us on from the sidelines. She believed in what we were building, and that meant everything.

She was kind, thoughtful, and the kind of person you don’t forget.

We are holding her family and loved ones close and sending so much love their way.

There is a GoFundMe set up to support her family, and we’ll share that in the comments for anyone who would like to help.

We will miss you deeply, Beth 🤍

Everyone, meet Sarah! Sarah, everyone.

Sarah randomly sent me an email asking if I was hiring. Technically, I wasn't. But she used words like "4 to 20 hrs per week", "need time away from my WFH husband", and "we have crow friends that we watch with our CrowCam".

Needless to say, I hired her. My daughter has claimed her as her best friend and invited her on vacation with us so they can wear matching polka dot swimsuits and watch wrestling.

You may see her bopping around doing pickups and drop offs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the comfort of her own vehicle, a spacious white minivan. 🚐
