Wow! Cash washes are big business in SW Florida and $6,000,000 for the recent sale of the Mister Car Wash in Englewood certainly gets our attention!

"Water, suds, brushes and a working vacuum. Car wash businesses, visibly thriving from Punta Gorda to the northern reaches of Venice, have become gold mines lately.

Could a new hospital be on the way for North Port?

According to The Daily Sun, "AdventHealth is proposing the development of a 24-bed, freestanding “Hospital Based Emergency Department,” or emergency room.

The project is under review by North Port’s Development Review Committee for site development and infrastructure plan approval, according to city officials...The development site is north of Tamiami Trail, east of South Salford Boulevard, west of South Cranberry Boulevard and south of the CocoPlum waterway on a parcel that is about 17.6 acres.

City officials said the proposed development includes a 16,235-square-foot ER that will include parking, a secondary storm system, off-site improvements, and associated utility infrastructure.

The development could be the first phase of a much larger project, according to a presentation from city officials that was given on Nov. 3, 2025.

In the future, in a second phase, Advent could add a 120-bed, five-story hospital and a 60,000-square-foot, four-story medical office building. In a third phase, the hospital could be expanded to include 240 beds and a parking garage."

“A Fort Myers developer purchased $18.5 million in Charlotte County agricultural land previously slated for a nearly 5,000-acre residential and commercial development proposed by PulteGroup.

David E. Torres, through companies he owns, acquired 13 parcels along U.S. 17 in five transactions between Sept. 5 and 11. The land represents only a portion of the nearly 5,000 acres that PulteGroup had proposed developing into a master-planned community some residents compared to a smaller version of Babcock Ranch.” Gulfshore Business

Recent hurricanes left a huge gap in Charlotte County's healthcare with the loss of the Punta Gorda Hospital on East Marion Ave. However, Charlotte County residents are one step closer to restoration of services.

"AdventHealth’s planned hospital campus in Punta Gorda moved another step forward after the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals recommended approval of parking variances for the project.

The 17.46-acre hospital campus planned off Jones Loop Road has already received city approval. The latest request involves parking requirements for the off-site emergency department, or OSED, that AdventHealth plans to build first, as well as the future hospital and medical office building." -- Gulfshore Business
