We are extremely sad to announce that after 6 awesome years, we have decided to close our Arcata location. We’ve gone back and forth on this decision over and over, and we have made a decision that we feel is best for our family and our business.
We opened in March 2020 as the pandemic began. Not the ideal time to have a grand opening, but it was definitely not something we anticipated or could have forecasted. COVID took us all by surprise and we didn’t know what to expect. During a time when small businesses were shuttered and closing, we were opening a brand new location in hopes of expanding our business. It took time, but eventually grew (little by little) and we survived the pandemic. Opening a second location during a pandemic was one of the most challenging things we have faced as a business. While we saw growth, our Arcata location never really gained the momentum it needed.
Over the last six years in Arcata, we have gained lots of regulars and new customers. We are supported by local residents, neighboring businesses, the students at Arcata High School and Cal Poly Humboldt. We want to say thank you to all those who supported us!
The decision to close our Arcata location was not easy, but we know it’s for the best. We’re a small family owned business and sometimes we are stretched pretty thin between the two locations, catering, and raising our four kids. Our wonderful hard working staff have contributed so much to the success at both locations and all the events we have catered, and they definitely deserve a shout out! There have been times when we’ve managed to operate both locations and cater multiple events in a single day successfully, but it is not easy. We have such an amazing crew!
We want to thank our wonderful Arcata customers who supported us and we’re so thankful for the success we had in Arcata and all the support from such a great community.
We’re especially going to miss our Arcata High School students who came in regularly for lunch. Thank you for your business and for always being so respectful when you came in. We love that you all felt at home in our restaurant and we hope you’ll come in to the Eureka location too!
We are looking forward to putting all of our focus and attention into our Eureka location which is approaching its 10 year anniversary in November of this year! As we begin the new year, we’re rolling out new menu options and extended hours. Going back to operating a single location will make it possible for us to offer so much more. And we are looking forward to it!
