AAWNC Apartment Association of Western North Carolina These three factors became the foundation of the present association.

The AAWNC was founded in early 1980 by a group of apartment managers and management firms to provide the apartment industry with an association that could unite them under one name, offer continuing education for their personnel, and providing related service groups the opportunity to become involved. The three primary objectives of the AAWNC are:
1. To promote goodwill and professionalism within

the industry and the community.
2. To provide ongoing educational opportunities for all members.
3. To promote the continuing growth of our industry through legislative guidance and support. Our affiliation with the National Apartment Association enables us to offer educational courses and opportunities to promote professionalism. As a registered lobbyist in Washington, the NAA represents our views on industry issues.
