Little delayed posting, but 2 weeks ago we had the honor of being asked to spend a day teaching Active Attack Leadership at the Tennessee Bereau of Investigations State Leadership Academy. Great chance to sit down and share combat Leadership and how to manage an active shooter event with 12 law enforcement supervisors from around the state.

The footage from Nashville is very telling. This is as close to right as right will ever get in a real situation. Obviously a ton more to unpackage from all this but MNPD deserves high praises for the way they have and still are handling this event, from response, to RTF, reunification, and media handling. I suspect this will be a benchmark response for a while to come.

Law Enforcement Officers often trauma casualties in the course of tactical operations. Conventional first aid and medical training does not address the complexities of these scenarios. An overview of tactical medicine for law enforcement was featured in the ILEETA Journal this month. This is ahead of the ILEETA conferance in just a few weeks.
