How the F**K are you truly supposed to grow your wedding business if… 👀 👀 👀   You don’t have the foundation to support that growth?!?! 
No written sales workflow - How’s that ghosting going?!
Not clear packages and pricing - If you don’t know, sure as sh*t your clients won’t either
No templates - Running on that hamster wheel must be fun! Everything living in your head - What happens when you break both of your arms?! Been there, done that. 10/10 do not recommend.   All this to say you’re operating your business on vibes, NOT strategy

WIPA Frisco, you absolutely WRECKED me in the absolute best possible way 🤩

I had the privilege of speaking in a breakout session, “Let’s SOP This Thing”. Honestly watching wedding pros have lightbulb moments about systems and operations is the reason on why I do what I do.

@ took the stage… I was not prepared. Vulnerable, raw, and so incredibly needed convo in this industry, iykyk. Sometimes the things that hit too close to home are exactly the things we needed to hear the most.

And the nights?!?!? Every single one filled with the most kickass humans, stunning design, and experiences that reminded me why I fell in love with this industry in the first place.

But let’s be real: my body sent me a very strongly worded message after all of that, and I spent the next week in full recovery mode. Zero apologies!!! I need to remind myself that boundaries apply to conferences too! 😂

I busted myself… BAD!!!

On June 2nd, I took Ovie to the dog park to get her puppy energy out after a day full of meetings. We were about to head out when another dog started harassing her 🙄 I was so focused on my pup and trying to get her away from the situation and not focused on the path in front of me… A big 6” deep hole that a dog had dug. My right foot when in and… I went down… HARD.

Ambulance ride and an overnight hospital stay later to determine that I broke both radial heads (aka my elbows), sprained both wrists, and sprained my right ankle. I had to get surgery on both ‘bows and stay in the hospital for a week. It changed my life upside down… I was told I couldn’t use my arms for 6-weeks 🤯

I’m talking not able to feed myself, bathe solo, or give myself water. It was rough… But I was determined to get back to normal. I worked really f*cking hard with my amazing team of nurses, doctors, surgeon, and physical + occupational therapist. Now after a month, I can function almost fully by myself minus needing assistance here and there. I’m slowly getting back to work, and taking it one day at a time.

But huge shoutouts are warranted 🥳 I just can’t the wedding community and my super close circle of friendors, friends, and loved ones for all of the support and help over these last few weeks. Literally too many amazing humans to tag for showing up and supporting me and my family through this challenging time.

I still have quite a bit to go. But sure as ever, I refuse to let anything stop me from doing me!

I can’t believe this year marks 6 years married and 10 years together. It feels like just yesterday we met at a dog park. It's been a wild ride and one I don't wanna get off anytime soon. Cheers to many many many more years of us being goofs, endless laughter, and all the snuggles. Love you to the moon and back 😘😘😘

If you’re losing clients and you can’t figure out why, start here!

These three mistakes are so common in the wedding industry that we’ve basically normalized them, and I’m calling it out!

👎🏻 Overwhelming your couples with too much info
😴 Sending proposals that could’ve been written for literally anyone

The wedding industry taught us to hustle first and figure the rest out later, but that’s exactly why so many of us are burnt the f**k out and spinning our damn wheels.You deserve:

Enforcing that contract clause probably felt awkward as f*ck… 🫠

But guess what? Your business didn’t implode! 🥳

Setting and enforcing boundaries with your wedding couples isn’t mean, it isn’t unprofessional, and it sure as sh*t isn’t something you should apologize for.

Your contract exists for a reason and your fees exist for a reason. You taught them how to treat and respect you the moment they signed that contract, so hold the line! 💪🏻

Clear expectations from the start mean fewer awkward conversations down the road, less scope creep nightmares, and a whole lot more sustainability in your business. You deserve to run a business that protects you just as much as it serves your clients.
