Human capital consulting is about more than policies and processes. It’s about helping people and organizations bring out the best in each other.

In the second post of FMP’s Career Series, we’re proud to spotlight Ashley Dorsett, Senior Consultant at FMP, whose career has been built at the intersection of people, strategy, and mission. With a background in psychology, counseling, higher education, and recruiting, Ashley brings a deeply human-centered lens to her work with federal agency clients.

At FMP, Ashley partners with agencies on human capital strategy, workforce development, strategic communications, and program management. From coordinating large-scale federal recruitment events to designing engaging training programs, her work consistently centers on employee experience—how people feel when they’re recruited, onboarded, developed, and supported throughout their careers.

Our team headed to Nationals Park for a company outing, and despite a cloudy forecast, the rain held off just long enough for us to enjoy the game, the views, and each other’s company.🌥️⚾

While the Nationals came up just short in a hard-fought 2–1 loss to the Mets, the energy among our team was a win. From shared laughs and conversations to cheering on every pitch, it was a meaningful chance to step away from the day-to-day and connect outside the office.

Grateful for time well spent, strong team spirit, and memories made (even if the final score wasn’t what we hoped for). Here’s to more moments like this—rain or shine. 💙❤️

At FMP, there’s no single path to becoming a consultant, and that’s by design. Our strength comes from a wide range of academic and professional journeys of our people and the perspectives they bring to solving complex organizational challenges. We’re excited to kick off FMP’s Career Series by spotlighting Dr. Roxanne Lawrence, an industrial and organizational psychologist whose background bridges psychology and organizational solutions.

Roxanne applies research-based methods like surveys, focus groups, interviews, and data analysis to uncover root causes and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Since joining the firm, she’s also expanded her technical expertise in tools like Power BI and Power Automate, deepening her impact across client engagements.

Her story reflects what makes FMP unique: rigorous thinking, collaboration, and the opportunity to grow through real-world problem solving.

AI tools are advancing fast, but many teams still hesitate to use them. Why? Because the real challenge isn’t technology. It’s human behavior.

Our latest blog, “Why AI Adoption Is Really About People, Not Tech,” breaks down five of the most common reasons people resist AI and what helps overcome them. From concerns about trust and transparency to fears of losing control, these barriers are showing up across industries.

At FMP, we center AI strategies around human psychology and organizational readiness so that adoption is intentional, responsible, and scalable. When people understand where AI fits and where human judgment remains essential, adoption follows naturally.

👉 Read the full blog and see how people‑first strategies unlock real AI adoption.

AI is everywhere, yet many organizations still struggle to motivate people to actually use it. The problem isn’t the technology, it’s human behavior. Understanding these human barriers is the difference between AI pilots that stall and adoption that can truly scale.

💬 Interview Success Series – Part 3: Advice from Those Who’ve Been There

Interviews can feel overwhelming, but hearing from people who’ve gone through the process can make all the difference.

In the final installment of FMP’s Interview Success Series, FMP employees share honest insights about how they prepared, managed nerves, followed up, and evaluated whether a role was the right fit for them.

Common themes emerged: practice builds confidence, small habits can calm pre‑interview nerves, and interviews work best when they’re treated as two‑way conversations.

💡 What’s one interview tip that’s helped you feel more confident?

🌍 Celebrating Earth Day: How FMP Builds a Culture of Sustainability🌱

At FMP, sustainability is a shared commitment shaped by intentional organizational practices and everyday employee choices.

From working in a LEED‑certified building with energy‑efficient systems to eliminating single‑use plastics, our operational decisions are designed to reduce waste and environmental impact. Small changes add up: removing Keurig machines eliminated nearly 6,000 non‑recyclable K‑cups annually, while our Bevi system has already saved 20,000+ plastic bottles.

Equally important is individual action. Employees receive reusable mugs and water bottles at onboarding, are encouraged to bike to work, and participate in initiatives like our Secondhand Market and year‑round e‑recycling program, all championed by FMP’s Sustainability Committee!

This Earth Day, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made and energized by what’s ahead. Sustainability thrives when corporate commitment and personal responsibility work hand in hand.

👉 How do you take small steps toward a more sustainable future?

Thank you to the FMPers who made the Charity Committee's Spring/Summer Safety Kit Drive with PathForward a success! From contributing to the donation drive, where we collectively gathered over $900 worth of products, to showing up on April 14th to assemble 34 kits, your efforts made a real difference.

Scott, the Community Engagement Manager at PathForward, let us know that 19 of the 34 kits were distributed the very next morning, immediately meeting the needs of individuals in our community. He shared that partnerships like ours help PathForward respond to community members with care, dignity, and compassion.

We are proud of what this team can do when we come together, and we look forward to more opportunities to give back!
