Teachers are the most important factors in a child’s education. In order to improve academic outcomes, we must have effective teachers instructing students on a daily basis. Just as effective instructional practices are integral to improving student outcomes, effective leadership practices must be in place to increase the effectiveness levels of teachers. Holloway Consulting Professional LLC is an

educational consulting firm that specializes in increasing the effectiveness levels of teachers and school-based leaders. We work with district leaders as well as individual schools to develop job-embedded professional development that is aligned to the expectations for effective instructional and leadership practices. We start with an extensive interview with district and/or school administrators and a comprehensive needs assessment to determine what services should be provided. After completing the needs assessment, our team customizes a plan and implementation schedule using data to improve instructional and leadership practices of teachers and leaders. Services are provided to:
Boards of Education
Public School Districts or individual schools
Charter Districts or individual schools
Community funded private or public organizations
Services include:
Analysis and review of teacher and principal evaluation systems
Professional development on effective planning
Professional development to improve instructional strategies using the current teacher observation rubric
Professional development to improve leadership practices using the current principal observation rubric
Co-Observation of teaching practices
Professional development on feedback, follow-up and follow through after observation of teaching practices
Calibration of observers (teachers and principals)
Time management for principals
Professional development on the importance of informal observations

We had another successful in-service day with the leadership team and faculty at WES. Teachers unpacked Teach 1 and 2 Indicators of the TEM rubric and rated teaching and learning based on evidence.
They later took on the role of observers by gathering evidence, aligning it to the rubric, calibrating and rating instruction based on what was seen, said and done by teachers and students.
