The FDA is investigating a rash of counterfeit diabetes drug Ozempic (semaglutide) along the United States pharmaceutical supply chain. Demand for this drug and its active ingredient, which is also the active ingredient in popular weight loss drug Wegovy spiked, creating a lucrative market for counterfeit products with ineffective ingredients and unsterile needles.
