Without Nadine Pope we would not exist! She taught me so much about photography. If I needed any of her equipment I used it FREE OF CHARGE and in some cases when I didn't have a vehicle she would deliver what I needed and even help with set up and take down. She had me at EVERY parade in Americus, Leonard Pope CHAMPS Day and several events at Friendship! Her physical presence is already sorely missed but I truly believe that death became her friend in the end by uniting her with her son and mom again! My dear friend has joined them in the land where no tears, sorrow or pain can be found!

Pray for the Pope family. Pray for Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Pray for the Sumter County and the City of Americus. Lastly, please please pray for me!

A life well lived grants REST WELL EARNED! Sit down servant and rest a little while

Love is what it does
And love is what she did
And now we all must gather
With a final farewell to bid

It's tough enough as is
So let's not make it super sad
She's resting with the Lord
And for that we should be glad

90 years here on earth
How blessed we all were
To have, to hug, to love and cherish
Someone as wonderfully awesome as her

In 2013, he was awarded the NAACP's Spingarn Medal — our highest honor — for his extraordinary accomplishments and staunch activism.
