First, I am a huge NY Giants fan. Second, the response of the NY Giants coaches, players, and fans regarding the play of the Philadelphia Eagles is exactly what's wrong today. Instead of complaining about how the Eagles didnt play to win and therefore cost the Giants a playoff position, perhaps a better response would have been for them to recognize that they didn't make the playoffs because they sucked this year. Perhaps a simple look in the mirror would have reflected a team that won only 6 games (4 wins coming against other teams in the worst division), a team that didn't do enough themselves to earn a playoff position, a team that didn't meet expectations or perform to a level that warranted a playoff position. Perhaps being reminded of "don't leave your desired outcome in the hands of someone else" would have been good for them. Wouldn't it have been great for this group to show some ownership, a little humility, and refocused drive to be better next year to EARN a playoff position? Instead, they're too busy crying like babies from the sidelines because another JV team didnt win a game that would have benefited them. Suck it up, Giants coaches, players, and fans. The team failed to perform and has no one to blame but themselves. This pattern of making excuses, placing blame elsewhere for why we didn't achieve what we hoped to achieve needs to stop.
