Kerecis Kerecis is an Icelandic company pioneering the use of fish skin in cellular therapy and regenerative medicine. A part of Coloplast Group

Kerecis is pioneering the use of fish skin and fatty-acids in the globally expanding cellular therapy and regenerative medicine market. The fatty-acid rich (including Omega3) products from the company's patented technologies enable the body to regenerate tissues, rather than simply repair them and risk scarring. Kerecis products, which are based on Omega3 rich fish skin, are currently being used to regenerate tissue in trauma and chronic wounds such as burns and diabetic wounds. Kerecis is also developing products for areas such as oral surgery, plastic surgery and neurological applications. The company's mission is to extend human life by supporting the body's own ability to regenerate tissues and its vision is to become world leader in regenerating damage of the human body by sustainably harnessing nature's own remedies. When wounds affect our cuddliest companions, Kerecis is here to help them heal! 🌟🐟
Meet an 8-year-old German Shepard, who was introduced to Dr. Andrea Clark and Dr. Astrid Beníquez Rodríguez after gnawing through the dressings on his broken phalanx, opening new wounds and setting off an infection. After just one in-tandem application of our Micro and Solid grafts, he's back on his feet and happy to be an oversized lap dog again!

19 years ago today, Kerecis took its first steps towards providing improved treatment options for chronic ulcers — with the ultimate aim of preventing amputations.

We started out as FnF ehf., a regulatory and innovation consultancy named after our founder, Fertram Sigurjonsson, and his wife, Fanney. By the time we hit the Icelandic media with this piece in 2010, we had evolved into a product development company focused on his idea of using fish skin to regenerate tissue!
While our operation has evolved several times since then, we’ve established intact fish skin as an improved option for treating a wide array of chronic, surgical, and burn wounds — helping heal over 120,000 patients so far!
