In September, USAID - US Agency for International Development announced the ten winning innovations for Doing Business with Integrity under the Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge for Development. A total of 100 organizations submitted concept notes from around the world, and the ten competitively selected innovations are receiving $50,000 to $500,000 in awards plus in-kind support.

In recognition of International Anti-Corruption Day, we’re proud to share the work of USAID's Partnership Against Corruption Activity to combat corruption and strengthen good governance.

In North Macedonia, the week around International Anti-Corruption Day gives key government anti-corruption institutions that are central to the fight against corruption an opportunity to highlight their reform initiatives under the new government. The week also provides a chance for North Macedonia's anti-corruption institutions to take stock of the country's performance to date on following through on its anti-corruption commitments.

Additionally, the week surrounding International Anti-Corruption Day provides an opportunity for key government anti-corruption institutions, including the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPCP), the Parliament (Assembly) of NMK, the State Audit Office (SAO), the Public Procurement Bureau (PPB), the newly created Ministry of Digital Transformation (MoDT), the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO), the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Inspection Council, to engage with civil society leaders, international donors, and project implementers about their anti-corruption priorities and plans.

Presenters and attendees included the Speaker of the Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of North Macedonia, Members of Parliament, the leadership of key anti-corruption institutions, civil society leaders, the mass media, and representatives from international development organizations, including the USAID Country Representative for the Republic of North Macedonia, a Delegation of the European Union, and the Swiss Ambassador to the Republic of North Macedonia.

This past weekend, USAID - US Agency for International Development's Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge, alongside USAID/Armenia and the Armenia Corruption Prevention Commission (CPC), supported the Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center Foundation (ISTC) in hosting the Data Against Corruption hackathon!

The hackathon supported the CPC’s mission of fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector of Armenia. Learn more about the winners and see pictures from the event below!

Three winning teams from the Accountability Lab's event in Albania will receive financial support, mentorship, and training from USAID - US Agency for International Development's Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge and attended an intensive three-day bootcamp to build out their ideas earlier this month.

During the event in September, changemakers from across the Balkans came together to generate ideas to counter corruption, including those that address transnational challenges. After judging the submissions, five winning teams have been selected!

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Global Compact Principle Ten, USAID - US Agency for International Development's Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge is proud to announce the winners of the Doing Business with Integrity (DBWI) open call for innovations. Principle Ten states that “Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.” DBWI focuses on enabling businesses to implement Principle Ten in innovative ways that counter transnational forms of corruption.
