Josh Howard, is a former first round selection of the NBA Dallas Mavericks in 2003, he was a vital member of the Mavs team that reached the 2006 NBA finals. After seven seasons with Dallas, he finished his pro career with the Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves. Josh is also the Head Men's Basketball Coach at .mbb and the founder of The Josh Howard Foundation.
The Josh Howard foundation was founded in 2007, with a core mission to “put the community back together one piece at a time”, the foundation offers a verity of programs used to add value and bring resources to underserved communities in Texas and North Carolina. The Foundation has established one of the largest community feeding programs in the Dallas Metro area in partnership with the State of Texas and local city facilities. Administering as many as 500 plus meals daily, striving to create a stable environment for every participant. Promoting educational enrichment through tutoring, providing recreational activities, and teaching the importance of healthy meals. Making conscious efforts to provide quality meals and assistance to those in poverty-stricken communities, while fighting against childhood food insecurity and obesity.
With combined efforts from partnerships daily the foundation can improve the quality of life and meals for youth. The foundation prides itself on community involvement and partnerships with other organizations. Annually going a step above the meal service and tapping into additional needs. Providing school supplies and backpacks, socks, sleeping bags, and meals to the homeless for Thanksgiving and a bike and coat drive for Christmas created to bring holiday cheer to children who have lost a parent.
