It is the fifth Independence Day observed under full scale invasion, and Ukrainians will mark it the way they have marked every one of them since 2022, with defiance rather than retreat.

Ukraine is where our CountryACCESS work is most concentrated. Our Kyiv based colleagues, our analysts, and our Overwatch team support humanitarian, development, and volunteer organizations that chose to stay and keep delivering. Those programs run because their people keep showing up, often after nights of sustained missile and drone attack, and then get on with the day.
