Founded in 1996 by Dr. Lucie Phillips, International Business Initiatives (IBI) was originally established as a research and development consultancy dedicated to enhancing private sector investment and development in Africa. For nearly twenty years, IBI has maintained its commitment to business-like standards by producing high-quality, sustainable results in a timely manner. IBI has grown steadily
and now offers services within a plethora of specialties such as Economic Growth, Gender Mainstreaming, Governance, Information Technology, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Public Financial Management. Additionally, IBI’s reach has expanded far beyond Sub-Saharan Africa and it now implements projects globally. Since its inception, IBI has been headquartered in Arlington, VA, a fifteen-minute Metro ride from U.S. government agencies and the World Bank in downtown Washington, DC. IBI recently opened a new office in Ghana, West Africa in order to expand its offerings and increase its regional presence. In 2016, IBI celebrated 20 years of providing Global Insights and Local Solutions. The same year, IBI was honored with the 2015 Small Business of the Year Award by USAID.
