UPDATE on 3/25/26:

The Artesia Police Department reports that Patricia Leon has been located safely and the investigation of a missing person is closed.

Police are still actively searching for Martin Madrid, who remains wanted with additional charges pending. Authorities warn that Madrid should be considered armed and dangerous and advise the public not to approach him.

The black Dodge Charger is no longer a vehicle of interest. Anyone with information regarding Martin Madrid’s whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.

The Artesia Police Department is actively searching for a 35‑year‑old Patricia Leon, who was last seen on March 19, 2026, at approximately 9:30 PM.

At this time, it is believed she may be in the company of a wanted subject, Martin Madrid, who is known to be driving a black Dodge Charger (NM License Plate # CGGM78).

⚠️ If you see her, Martin Madrid, or the described vehicle, DO NOT attempt to make contact.

📞 Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the Artesia Police Department at 575-746-500 or our Regional Dispatch (REDA) at 575-616-7155 immediately.

At this time, this is not being classified as a missing person case. Law enforcement is asking anyone who may have seen or had contact with her since that time to come forward.

If this is as bad as they think it might be….Please make sure you have emergency kits in your vehicles! Extra clothes, food, blankets, meds, etc! Just in case you get caught out in it for longer than expected. Be safe!

I am posting this for my spouse who doesn’t have a Facebook account. He retired from the oilfield in 2023. He lived part-time while working in his own private man camp on 7.5 acres in a 27 ft travel trailer with slide-out under a fenced and gated RV cover. The property is outside Hagerman, NM. We tried to do a FSBO two years ago but the guys stopped paying after only 2 payments. We are asking 75K and must get a bank loan.
