The Murph Challenge is a legendary fitness event performed around the world in honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy and the sacrifices made by our nation's military service members. In addition to honoring our fallen heroes, participation in Murph events helps support educational scholarships and programs through the Murph Foundation.
This year, more than 100 Barber-Nichols employees came together to take part in our own Murph Challenge event!
While the traditional Murph consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and another 1-mile run, one of the things that makes the Barber-Nichols Murph Challenge special is that it's designed so everyone can participate. Employees had the opportunity to complete the traditional workout or choose from modified versions, allowing individuals of all fitness levels and abilities to challenge themselves, support one another, and be part of the experience.
The event showcased the teamwork, determination, and camaraderie that define our culture while providing a fun opportunity for employees to connect outside of the workplace.
A special thank you to Greg Forsha and David Kwaitkowski for organizing another outstanding event and bringing our team together for such a meaningful tradition.
Following the challenge, employees enjoyed a BBQ thanks to Mike Schaper, Nate Bailey, and Patrick Bennett, who cooked, prepared, and served food for the group. We'd also like to thank Venus Colletti, Leah Rice, and Braden Stelley for their help in making the event a success.
We were also excited to have members of the Arvada Police Department participate alongside our employees throughout the challenge.
Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped make this year's Murph Challenge such a memorable event. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the years ahead.
