What does it mean mean to maintain The Human Edge in the age of AI?

Last week, The Greater Arvada Chamber or Commerce co-hosted The Human Edge Summit with Colorado Inclusive Economy to highlight the importance of human connection in the workplace and the need to continue to fostering meaningful relationships in the era of AI.

Leaders from employers across the metro area shared how they maintain the Human Edge within their organizations and the role that connection plays in creating an environment where employees feel represented, respected, and empowered to thrive.

More than 150 volunteers came together for the Greater Arvada Chamber’s third annual Day of Service, supporting 14 projects that made a difference for local nonprofits. From organizing donations and improving community spaces to supporting families in need, these volunteers showed what’s possible when businesses and community members unite for a common purpose.

The Greater Arvada Chamber takes a neutral position on the Jeffco Public Schools Mill Levy Overrides, recognizing both the importance of investing in our future workforce and the financial concerns facing local businesses.

These measures could support career and technical education, workforce development, and opportunities for students, while also impacting taxpayers and commercial property owners.

Why does the Greater Arvada Chamber oppose Ballot Issue 7A?

The Chamber supports smart transportation investments but opposes a permanent regional sales tax without a sunset date or performance requirements. With the Fort Collins-to-Denver passenger rail service already funded to launch in 2029, we believe the district should demonstrate ridership and costs before asking taxpayers for additional long-term funding.

Howl-oween is 3 days away!

Join us Sunday, October 25th for our 21st Annual Howl-oween Pet Costume Contest!

From 11:00am to 3:00pm you’ll be able to sign up for the costume contest and walk around Olde Town Arvada to trick or treat!

There is a $15 entry fee for the event—with all proceeds going to Arvada Community Table—and registration will take place at Paws n Play, which will also act as the first stop to get things in motion.

Make sure you head over to the Community Bank of CO parking lot at 1:30pm as the contest and parade will take place there until 3pm—you won’t want to miss out on the chance of winning some cool prizes!

Proposition NN would increase Colorado’s TABOR revenue cap to provide additional funding for K-12 education, including teacher pay, retention, and career and technical education.

The Greater Arvada Chamber is neutral on Proposition NN. While investing in education and workforce development is important to Colorado’s economy, concerns remain about reduced TABOR refunds, the permanent nature of the revenue increase, and how funds could be used beyond K-12 education.

Proposition 136: Protecting Predictability for Arvada Businesses

Colorado’s tax structure impacts how local businesses plan, hire, invest, and grow. The Greater Arvada Chamber supports Proposition 136, which would cap Colorado’s income tax rate at the current 4.4% for individuals and businesses.

Our support for Proposition 136 goes hand in hand with our opposition to Amendment 87, which would replace Colorado’s flat income tax with graduated rates reaching up to 8.4%. For many Arvada businesses structured as LLCs, S-corps, and partnerships, business profits pass through to owners’ personal tax returns, potentially increasing their tax burden under Amendment 87.

A predictable tax structure helps Arvada businesses remain competitive, make long-term investments, and create local jobs.
