Meet a featured speaker at The Human Edge 🎤

Anthony Lambatos, Co-Owner & CEO of Footers Catering, joins us on October 20 to talk about heart leadership and building a culture people don't want to leave.

About his session: Anthony will share how he and his wife, April, have transformed a second-generation family business into one of the best places to work with heart leadership and an intentional approach to culture. He'll focus on the skills and mindset needed to be a heartfelt leader, how to foster a fun and engaging work environment, and how to stay energized when the responsibility of leadership gets heavy. Today's honoree is Cassandra Portnow (Chef Sassy), Executive Chef at Footers Catering!

Cassandra Portnow, also known as chef Sassy, deserves recognition on the Arvada Future 20 list for the leadership, skill, and heart she brings to Footers' kitchen every single day. As a young chef, she already carries herself with the presence and command of a seasoned pro managing a team of 10 prep cooks daily while consistently delivering high-volume, high-quality food for events. That combination of scale and consistency is rare, and it's a testament to both her technical skill and her ability to lead people.

What sets Cassandra apart is the range and originality of her culinary background. She brings together Native American culinary traditions and Asian cooking techniques in a way that few, if any, chefs in this local industry can match, giving her a genuinely unique voice in the culinary world. Today's honoree is Kyle Christy, owner of Sew Fly Craftworks!

Kyle is a born and raised resident of the City of Arvada. He has owned and operated two businesses with in the city limits of Arvada. One being a private teaching drum studio of 16 years and his upholstery business, Sew Fly Craftworks. In 2025 he was nominated and won Mile High's Best Upholstery Shop. Kyle loves the city of Arvada and the State of Colorado. This is his home and this is where he will continue his roots to grow in community, family, friendships and integrity.

September is Future 20 Under 40 month! ⭐ Throughout the month, we’ll introduce you to 20 outstanding emerging leaders making a difference in Arvada and beyond — one honoree at a time.

Our first honoree we're recognizing is Cris Chacon, founder of Flatirons Tutoring!

As the founder of Flatirons Tutoring, Chris is making an impact on local students and families by providing personalized academic support that goes beyond grades and test scores. Through tutoring and academic coaching, he helps students strengthen their skills, build better habits, and regain the confidence they need to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.
In addition to running his small business, Chris is a classroom teacher and varsity football and basketball coach, giving him a unique perspective on the needs of students, families, and educators. Through Flatirons Tutoring, he has worked to make individualized academic support more accessible, including expanding grant-based tutoring opportunities for students who may not otherwise have access to these resources.
Chris embodies the values of leadership, service, and community impact. Whether he is teaching, coaching, or growing Flatirons Tutoring, he is committed to investing in young people and creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation. His work reflects his belief that strong communities are built when people recognize a need, take initiative, and work together to create lasting solutions.
