One of the greatest gifts of my entrepreneurial journey has been reaching a point where I can turn around and share what I’ve learned with those who are just beginning theirs.

Entrepreneurship can be exciting, rewarding, exhausting, and sometimes downright hard and lonely. That’s why programs like ScaleUp matter so much.

One of the perks of being the marketing director? You get to be the one holding all the tickets. 🎟️⚾

Tonight’s Home Run for Better Healthcare event was a reminder of why I love what I do. As Director of Marketing & Business Development for Integrative Family Medicine, I had the privilege of helping bring together an incredible group of people who believe healthcare can be more personal, more proactive, and more connected to the community.

Great event. Great purpose. Great people.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us tonight at the ballpark to celebrate a better way to do healthcare in Western North Carolina. I’m grateful to be part of a team that’s working to make a difference—and to spend evenings like this with so many inspiring community members.

There’s something powerful about sitting across from a provider and helping them tell their story—not just what they do, but why they do it.

Today, I had the privilege of conducting interviews for Integrative Family Medicine’s upcoming Meet the Provider series, and I’m reminded (again) why this work matters so much.

This team doesn’t just practice care—they live it. Every conversation reveals a deeper commitment to their patients, their philosophy, and each other. It’s what building a brand from the inside out actually looks like: aligned, human, and deeply intentional.

There’s something special about getting to witness a brand evolve from the inside out.

Today I had the chance to visit one of my favorite clients, Knollman Dental—and it reminded me why I love this work so much.

I started working with Dr. Mark Knollman a couple of years ago, just before his son, Chris, joined the practice. That moment marked more than a staffing change—it was the beginning of a true brand evolution. What was once a single-doctor practice became Knollman Dental: a family business, a legacy in motion, and a brand with even deeper roots.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of watching Chris step into his role, grow into the Knollman brand ecosystem, and help shape what comes next. And somewhere along the way, they became more than a client… they became my dental home, too.

This is the kind of work that matters to me—helping businesses grow with intention, supporting transitions that honor both legacy and future, and building brands that reflect the people behind them.

Two generations. One evolving brand. And a whole lot of trust.

Leadership Beyond the Logo

I started my career as a brand strategist—helping businesses shape how they show up on the outside. Messaging. Positioning. Identity. The visible parts of a brand.

But 20 years later, I’ve had the privilege of stepping inside a brand as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Integrative Family Medicine—and it’s changed the way I see everything.

Because the strongest brands aren’t built from the outside in. They’re lived from the inside out.

I’ve watched this innovative organization grow and evolve—expanding access to primary care for individuals and businesses across Asheville and beyond—without ever losing sight of why they started. The model has grown. The reach has expanded. But the mission has remained steady.

That’s what real leadership looks like.

Not just a logo.
Not just a message.
But a commitment—every day—to live the brand in how you serve, lead, and care for people.

That’s leadership beyond the logo.

Spent the morning behind the camera at WNC CBD now just WNC) —and what a great reminder of what strong are really made of.

We were there capturing the story of their innovative business model, but what stood out most wasn’t just what they do—it’s how they take care of their people. There’s a clear, intentional commitment to employee wellbeing, and it shows in every part of the business.
