Amazon's largest sale of the year means extra hours, increased rates of injury, and sweltering temperatures for Amazon warehouse workers. Opt out of this consumer "holiday" and scratch your shopping itch by giving a new home to a pre-loved book instead!

This Prime Day, we're hosting another community book swap on Firestorm's patio. Bring books you have loved but are willing to part with, and get a different book (or more) from someone else! No limit on the number of books you bring or take, just be considerate of what you contribute (i.e. don't bring things that others are unlikely to want) or take (leave a few good books for the rest of us)!

Kiki McGhee, here, tried to act like she was feral when she came into rescue but since we have wet food, she finally gave up on the ruse and decided she’d much rather be friends 🥰

ALSO we are seriously drowning this Kitten Season and have been dealing with much more dire cases than Kiki that have drained our bank account and our energy. We could make a long post about how stressed we are and how much we need to raise but honestly, we’re exhausted. So we’re just going to ask that if you love black cats and you support our mission, please please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the rescue. We really need your support and it would mean the world to us and the black cats and kittens in the rescue.
