Have been making this recipe for years … my go to recipe for summer bounty but I leave it slightly chunky and add a small can of Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix. Made it today. The best of summer: heirlooms, local baby cucumber, Vidalia onion, best EVOO and sherry vinegar I bought in Spain. Big yum.

Lunch for days.

In the weirdness of supply chain and pricing volatility these days I read this morning that gas prices had fallen 7 cents in the last week. My tank was empty-ish so on my way to the hardware store I noted a price of $3.29 per gallon at the Shell on the left hand side of the road. Thinking of traffic flow and left turns I thought I’d fill up on the way back. Literally 15 minutes later the price had flipped to $3.46. And that’s the cash price not credit.

I missed my window of opportunity.
