🎤Tracey Carswell (they/them) is a q***r non-binary artist, educator, coach, and curator dedicated to empowering leaders and building inclusive communities. They are the founder of Powerful in Pink, a creative brand that offers coaching, small business support, curation services, and community building opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs.

Tracey also co-founded Q***r Metalsmiths, a community space that honors, centers, and uplifts 2SLGBTQIA+ jewelers and metalsmiths. Through their work as the founder and former President of the Miami chapter of the Women’s Jewelry Association, as well as Powerful in Pink and Q***r Metalsmiths, they invest in the growth and success of women, femme, q***r, transgender, and gender non-conforming leaders in the jewelry and craft industries.

Introducing one of our Q***r Metalsmiths founders, Tracey Carswell (they/she ) is a q***r non-binary Miami-based artist who makes jewelry out of metal, stones and reclaimed materials. A lifelong learner, they have studied with many teachers in and out of Miami learning metalsmithing, stone setting, and stone cutting. Tracey now gets to share their love of art and jewelry by teaching curious artists how to bend metal, play with fire, and build tiny homes for beautiful stones. They are the Founder and Past President of the Miami chapter of the Women’s Jewelry Association , where they empower women, femmes, and TGNC leadership in the jewelry and watch industries.⠀

It’s been a minute y’all… I’ve been on a rollercoaster ride over here! At the end of February I found a lump in my breast, and with tests and a biopsy, I found out that I have stage 3 breast cancer.

This Friday I’m starting chemo, and decided to say goodbye to my hair (half of it was cut off anyway 😉 I’ve been cutting my own hair since I was 17, and each time it’s a time of transformation and self reflection, shedding old cells while knowing that new ones will grow back to take their place.

This journey I’m going on is very much a healing transformation, physically, mentally and spiritually. I’m surrounded by so much love and support, a really great medical team, my family, and my partner and love of my life, Jacqui.

I’m ready for the journey, and welcome your love, thoughts and prayers 🙏💗 I’m creating magic and miracles, bringing love, joy and laughter, and finding gratitude each day for blessings in my life.

If you’ve been putting off your own well being, please make that dr appt, do something for your self care, and love on your physical body that has gotten you through this past year…

Here’s the finished product... Concrete cuff links! There are so many ways to incorporate concrete into typical fine jewelry designs... I love creating that contrast between raw industrial materials and precious metals. For me it’s personal, I find myself to be someone who is both a grungy art kid and a polished professional- and they can exist at the same time😏 I’m still playing around with different ideas for the concrete collection, let me know if there’s anything you’d like to me to make. I’ve got a rainbow of color tints!🌈...
