If you’ve caught the FIFA soccer fever like we have in Massachusetts, the energy from our visitors is just amazing!

First came the Norwegians with their crazy viking escalator rides throughout the “T” subway system, sitting on the moving stairwell and rowing like vikings.

Then the Scots showed up and took Boston by storm! They lit up this city like I’ve never seen. They literally depleted our oldest bars of beer, and some liquor stores too. They drank everything. Even the local Boston police got into the action, accepting any challenge the Scots would throw at them - with a grand smile!

Today it's the English, and Friday come the French.

I want to honor our fantastic foreign guests, and since I don’t produce Cider for Norway, and no Scotch for the Scots, and no ales for Wales, I do produce wine of course. And who better to honor than France with wine.

Vineyard update: fruit set has occurred after the flowers have self pollinated. This is the BB-sized berries that will slowly swell to pea-sized in the next couple weeks.

Vineyard Update: It’s bloom time! Here we see the flowers blooming and ready for self-pollination.

Most wine grape cultivars have what are called “perfect flowers” and evolved with an ability to self-pollinate, with both male and female parts on the same cluster. It is theorized that our ancestors selected and propagated these special vines because they produced larger and more bountiful fruit clusters.
