On behalf of everyone on the Ashley Fire Department. We would truly like to thank polaris and the family and friends of Chris Hendricks. For the amazing donations. Polaris donated this new 4 door Ranger in memory of Chris Hendricks. Chris worked for polaris and helped design this Ranger. He was truly a big influence and loved working for polaris. Also a great big thank you to Chris's family and friends for their amazing donations. Chris Hendricks you may be gone but you will never be forgotten here at the Ashley Fire Department.

On July 24th one of our own Travis received burns to his legs and arms from a burn pit accident. He currently is in Minneapolis at the burn center receiving care for those burns for an unknown amount of time right now. To help off set some of these medical costs and time away from work the fire department will hold a gun raffle at the Ashley Community Rodeo this weekend Aug 2-3. All proceeds from this raffle will go to Travis and his family during this difficult time. Drawing for the r***r 110 apex 300 win will be Sunday night towards the end of the rodeo. Also during both nights fire boots will be passed around for collections for the family.

Haven’t done a progress report lately on the new fire hall addition but things are moving ahead. Hoping to get the front apron cement poured in July. Flooring is going in the break room now and then the kitchen will be put together. Thank you to all the help we have received for this project. We can not thank the community enough!

On Monday we are expecting very strong winds. The whole area is under a High Wind Watch, and some of the area is under a Fire Weather Watch. Wind gusts could be as high as 60 MPH. Mixing in warm temperatures and dry conditions means if a fire gets started outside it can spread quickly. - Meteorologist Meghan Chada
