Equilibrium Solutions, LLC’s client, is looking for a Production Accounting Manager in New York, New York.�
The Production Accounting Manager will provide accounting oversight and consultation across all productions, inclusive of documentary films, series, and live events. Working closely with the internal Production and Operations teams, as well as third-party production and corporate accountants, this individual will be ensuring the accounting processes and communication operate seamlessly within individual projects and across the company. This individual will need to manage tactical elements of production accounting as well as act as a trusted advisor in how the company scales its production accounting operations as they grow.��The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the following at the project level:�� - Acting as a lead production accountant on specific projects led by the production company, based on overall workload� - Working with the production team throughout the project to review cost reports, give feedback on actuals, and adjust cash flow as needed� - Acting as a liaison between production payroll company, paymaster, production team, and finance team to ensure payments are processed accurately, and any issues are resolved in a timely manner� - Creating cash flows for each internal production at project kickoff� - Reviewing cash flows from 3rd party production companies at project kickoff flagging any potential issues � - Funding each project checking account accurately and on-time� - Paying and approving all purchase orders created for all expenses beyond payroll, including invoices, credit cards, and petty cash � - Reviewing bank reconciliations� - Wrapping show financials, including providing a final ledger, cost report, and financial recap of the project for company and tax purposes �
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the following at the corporate level:�� - Acting as the liaison between the production company’s internal team, third party corporate accountants, and third party production accountants to ensure continuity of accounting processes and communication� - Managing contracted production accountants as directed by the senior team � - Ensuring overhead fees and other internal soft costs are accounted for appropriately within project budgets and pulled into the ledger� - Preparing ACH and wire transfers on a twice-monthly basis for corporate accountant/supervisor release� - Understanding tax and guild related issues as they pertain to payroll, answering pertinent questions, and problem-solving in compliance with tax and guild laws� - Working with the operations team and corporate accountant to accurately code corporate expenses�
This is a non-exclusive, part-time position, requiring 25 hours per week OR a full-time position. ��Preferred qualifications: � - 5+ years of managing show productions, large series, or features� - Working knowledge of Movie Magic Budgeting, production payroll systems (ie. Media Services, Cast and Crew, Greenslate, Wrapook, etc.)� - Experience working to create /revamp systems and set up production companies accounting workflows and procedures�
