Established in the late 19th century, Labor Day was born out of the labor movement’s fight for fair wages, safer working conditions, and dignity on the job. ✊ The holiday recognizes the value of hard work and the essential role that workers play in shaping the growth and success of this country.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we honor the historic moment in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was adopted 📜, marking the birth of a new nation founded on the ideals of liberty 🗽, self-governance 🤝, and the pursuit of a better future 🌟.

But history reminds us that freedom has always been a journey, not just a moment. The promise of independence in 1776 was incomplete—for generations, many in this country were denied the very freedoms this holiday represents. ⚖️

Honoring Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom ✊🏾✨

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history that represents resilience, hope, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

On June 19, 1865—more than 2⃣ years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed—Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, with the news that enslaved people were finally free. This day, now known as Juneteenth, marks the true enforcement of emancipation in the United States and the liberation of the last remaining enslaved Black Americans. 📜🖤

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on the strength 💪🏾 and contributions of Black communities, to acknowledge the painful history of injustice, and to recommit ourselves to building a future rooted in equity, dignity, and opportunity for all. 🌍🤝
