161 years later, we honor the ancestors who fought for freedom and celebrate the progress, perseverance, and legacy that continue through us today.
Let today be a reminder of resilience. A reminder of sacrifice. A reminder that generations before us endured unimaginable hardships while still holding onto hope for a future they may never personally experience.
As Black female entrepreneurs, we don’t take that lightly. Every opportunity we have to build a business, create wealth, educate others, and leave a legacy exists because someone before us kept going.
Someone survived. Someone sacrificed. Someone believed that freedom was worth fighting for.
Today, we celebrate the strength, courage, brilliance, and perseverance of my ancestors. We celebrate the Black entrepreneurs, leaders, educators, innovators, and trailblazers who paved the way. And we recognize that freedom isn’t just something we commemorate.
It’s something we continue to pursue through ownership, education, economic empowerment, community, and legacy.
Today, we’re grateful. Today, we’re reflective. Today, we honor those whose shoulders we stand upon.
Happy Juneteenth. ❤️🖤💚
Take a moment today to honor those trailblazers whose sacrifices helped make your journey possible.
