As a Senior Consultant with Torinity Consulting Company, Michael specializes in the areas of college access/youth program development, training and evaluation, higher education enrollment management policy development and evaluation, and life skills program development and training. In addition, Michael serves as the founder/president of DevonshireSmith Diversity and Education Solutions.

Michael has worked as a tireless and passionate advocate for social justice, which has motivated him to create impactful and sustainable educational initiatives at a variety of institutions. Michael holds more than 18 years of college access/youth program development, training, and seminar experience, which he brings to the table when developing and delivering results-oriented solutions to Torinity’s clients. Other areas of expertise include academic support programming, cultural programming, and leadership development initiatives, which also educates others on issues of pluralism, inclusion, oppression, and marginalization.

Michael is a member of various professional organizations such as the American College Personnel Association, Association of Black Sociologists, Association of African American Museums, National Association of Black Social Workers, and Multiethnic Advocates for Cultural Competence in Behavioral Healthcare. In 2009, he was honored as a Greater Cincinnati YMCA Black and Hispanic Adult Achiever. In 2006, he was also recognized as one of the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Forty Under 40 recipients. Michael is also a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Michael is a die-hard Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Pistons fan. An avid history buff, he has visited over 76 history museums throughout the world.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Human Services and Psychology from Adrian College in 2001, his Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from the University of Cincinnati School of Social Work, and his Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) from the University of Cincinnati College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services.
