⏰ Super Simple Closet Organizing Tip!

When I take clothes out of my closet, instead of pulling the item off of the hanger and leaving the hanger in the same spot, I put the hanger at the end of the rod. This way when I am looking for a hanger to put away clean laundry I know where they are and I’m not digging through clothes to find an available one. It saves me time and frustration and takes a mere moment to do.

These clients asked me to help move them in to their new home and I had the opportunity to create a new, easy to manage closet system for them. 🤗 I don’t have any before photos to share… well technically I do but photos of an empty closet aren’t that exciting. I probably should have taken photos of the stacks and stacks of moving boxes and suitcases I unpacked, but I’m not great at remembering before photos TBH. 😬

Stay tuned for one of my favorite super simple closet tricks that takes only a moment to do but saves time and frustration in the long run. 🤓

Sometimes a space needs a little boost beyond decluttering and organizing. If renovations aren’t in your budget, try changing your lighting and hardware and give your space a new coat of paint for a low cost upgrade.

This charming little bathroom was serving as a storage space for too much (see before photos) and didn’t have adequate hanging space. I reorganized bathroom accessories and tossed expired beauty products to pare down, then we changed the paint color, added lighting that was era-appropriate to the home, and added new hardware.

Cheers to a new zen space to start this client’s day!

Namaste in the basement. 🧘🏻

Who says a basement can’t be a peaceful retreat? This couple was a delight to work with - they each had separate wants for their space and were able to meet in the middle so clutter was cleared and mementoes were safely stored away.

Their basement now has a workstation, ample storage, and a temporary zen area while they wait to begin construction on a guest house/studio/retreat.

We repurposed most of what they had on hand with the exception of a few shelving units and bins. Organizing doesn’t have to be a total purge of everything you own, often it’s simply finding a different use for something you already own.

There’s nothing quite like illness to throw things off balance. Plans get cancelled, sleep is elusive, brains are foggy, bodies ache, patience is thin. One minor thing that helps when anyone in my family gets sick is to take the guesswork out of medicine dosage. 💊

Simply write the required doses on the bottle/packaging and check off as each dose is administered. This is especially helpful in avoiding overdosing if multiple parents or caregivers are administering a child’s medicine. 🌡

Pro tip: if your foggy illness brain can’t think of the dates, just write Day 1, Day 2, etc. 🧠

🌱Spring Cleaning came early with this client’s garage reorganization! Like so many of us, this client simply needed a fresh slate to maintain the state of their catch-all space.

If you’re going to reorganize your garage, try some of these tips I used for this project:
🏀 create zones for your garage items like yard work, sports, tools, grilling, and overflow pantry staples. 🧻
🔧 designate a pile for donations and trash and be honest with yourself about the use and condition of each item before putting it back on a shelf. 🪜
🧹 clean items and shelves as you go. Wipe the spiderwebs off that step aerobics equipment (and then donate it since you clearly haven’t used it in ages.) 🕸
📽 move items that don’t belong in the garage to a more appropriate location. (PSA: sometimes the garbage is a more appropriate location.) 🛢
