Moskehtu Consulting is helping amplify awareness of the 2026 Indigenous Peoples Day NYC Gathering, a FREE public event taking place on Randalls Island, October 11–12, 2026.
This two-day gathering celebrates Indigenous survival, culture, resilience, and community while supporting the ongoing effort to encourage New York City to recognize Indigenous Peoples Day in place of Columbus Day.
The event will feature Indigenous dance, music, spoken word, guest speakers, cultural programming, and opportunities for community connection. Monday, October 12, will begin with a 7:00 AM sunrise ceremony.
Keeping the Gathering Free
Community support helps make this gathering accessible to everyone. Funds raised will support:
* Venue and event production
* Honorariums for Indigenous artists, speakers, and cultural leaders
* Travel and accommodations for Native participants
* Educational and youth programming
* Accessibility services and community outreach
* Cultural preservation and future Indigenous-led initiatives
