🚨38% of small businesses fail in their first 3 years🚨

Here's what I've learned to beat the statistic:

1️⃣ In the beginning, you can afford to work harder and not smarter.

2️⃣ Protect cash like your life depends on it. Learning to operate without debt/equity makes those tools more powerful later on.

3️⃣ Simplify your marketing message and stick to one channel. I'd recommend Story Brand by Donald Miller.

4️⃣ Tie your activities to outcomes. Don't get lost in picking your brand's color palette. Only do work that progresses your vision and let the rest go.

5️⃣ Don't underestimate what you can outsource to Fiverr. Everyone has a side hustle these days and there are some seriously talented people willing to help you where you're lacking.

May is Mental Health Awareness month. As entrepreneurs, we tend to carry the world on our backs. 55% of respondents in a British survey said that running a business has harmed their mental health. Stress, depression, and anxiety are the most common issues amongst entrepreneurs.

Client satisfaction is essential for any company to succeed - even more so for service-based businesses.

Receiving harsh criticism from a customer might be painful. It can feel like a failure and even take an entrepreneur into a phase of a scarcity mindset. However, it can be a valuable source of learning when approached well.

There are a few steps you can take to leverage client feedback.

1- Have systems in place to receive feedback
You don't want to learn your biggest client is unhappy when it's too late and they have already decided to cancel their contract. Most of the time, people will show signs of dissatisfaction early on. Have weekly or bi-weekly check-ins with your clients and encourage them to be honest and forward.

2- Be open to criticism
Sometimes, what we need to hear might be different than what we want to hear. Don't be defensive if a client complains, try to understand their point of view. Do you think they're wrong? Then reflect on your communication and what you could've said that got them confused.

3- Be open to change
If you are receiving the same negative feedback over and over, it might be time to make changes to your offer. It might be something small, like a change on your sales pitch to be more aligned with what you currently have. Or even something big, like restructuring your whole program.

So don't let criticism hit you negatively. Use it to your advantage and never stop improving your services.

What you do every day will directly affect the progress of your business. So set yourself for success by starting your days well.

Having a morning routine can help you to feel focused and energized during your workday. Don't rush to start grinding and mindlessly perform random tasks in the morning. Create a rhythm to focus on what is more important.

Everyone is unique and has different priorities, so your morning routine should not be the same as someone else’s. You must build a routine that will make sense to you and your goals.

There are a few healthy habits that will make your days better:

1- Consistency
A routine is based on consistency. Whatever you choose to start your day with, do it every day, even on weekends.

2- Drink water
Drinking water when you wake up will keep you hydrated and help your brain to wake up.

3- Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day
Good and consistent sleep is key. Going to bed and waking up the same time every day will help your circadian cycle, and you will have better nights of sleep. Remember that most adults need 7-9 hours every day to feel rested.

4- Wake up early enough
Give yourself enough time to get up and have your personal time to focus. How you wake up will set the pace of your day, so make sure you are not starting with more stress than necessary.

5- Stop looking at your phone first thing in the morning
You can easily lose 30 minutes just mindlessly scrolling on your phone in bed. Instead, try to focus on activities that will help you stay focused on having a good day.
