Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, God's people were reading and hearing these words. Before Mary was born...before Joseph was born...before Elizabeth or Zechariah...God had a plan.

God knew before anyone else how He was going to send us a Savior. Not one that would come as a typical king or one that would be raised in a palace. Not one that would be high in power in that day. But His plan included a young girl, a little town called Bethlehem, a group of shepherds and a very holy night.

Even during the 400 years when it seemed that God was silent...He was working. And His people were waiting. People like Simeon were waiting patiently for his eyes to see God's salvation.

God always keeps His promises. He always has...and He always will.

On one holy night...a Child was born, a Son given. He is our Wonderful Counselor, our Mighty God, our Everlasting Father, our Prince of Peace. He is our Savior and His name is Jesus!

Can you imagine what Mary must have been thinking? What she was treasuring up in her heart?There she was...a young bride...

Can you imagine what Mary must have been thinking? What she was treasuring up in her heart?

There she was...a young bride and young mother...holding her firstborn baby...holding in her own arms the precious gift of her Savior.

I love this simple yet profound sentence in Scripture. It holds so much to it and reminds us that while everything around us can be busy, going by fast and we may be in the midst of the hustle and bustle...we need to take time to "treasure up" the many gifts of the Father.

Take time to just be...to just sit with the Savior.

It wasn't to Caesar. It wasn't to a king. It wasn't to a priest or the town counsel...it wasn't to the rich or powerful....

It wasn't to Caesar. It wasn't to a king. It wasn't to a priest or the town counsel...it wasn't to the rich or powerful.

God sent an angel to the ordinary...just some shepherds out in the fields with their sheep. Just a normal person like you and me. He sent an angel to the least likely, the lowest of low. Only God would pick them to be the first to hear this Good News of the birth of the Messiah.

After the shepherds heard, they didn't just sit around and chat about it among themselves. They got up and WENT! They went to see what God had done and what the angel had told them about. Then they told everyone they saw. They didn't keep it to themselves. They shared the Good News about the birth of our Savior!

We can learn a lot from these "least likely" shepherds. Jesus came for ALL PEOPLE and we need to go and tell!

There...on the most holy night...our Savior was born. Imagine what must have been going through the minds of Mary and Jo...

There...on the most holy night...our Savior was born. Imagine what must have been going through the minds of Mary and Joseph. They knew everything the angel told them...they knew the truth of this moment.

Ever wondered what that first look was like...not only looking at your Son...but looking at your Savior who will save you and the whole world?

Love came to earth on that night in a new and mighty way. Love was wrapped tightly and with so much care in a cloth, laid down in some soft hay...and His name is Jesus!

Can you imagine that travel for Joseph and Mary? That journey to Bethlehem. There are many depictions of this journey in paintings, drawings, those felt cut outs from Sunday School, songs and books...but none of us truly know what it was like for these two young people to travel to Bethlehem.

One thing we know can for sure. God with with them the entire way...every step on those roads and paths. He never left them.

We can have confidence that the journey/path/road we are traveling on right now, God will never leave us...not for one moment.

Every day...I am grateful for the men and women who put on the uniform and fight to defend our country and our freedom.

This photo was taken during WWII of my Grandfather (on the right) and his older brother (on the left). I have always loved this photo of the two of them. It reminds me of how God shows His love to His children even during difficult times. These two brothers were both in the Army and stationed with different companies during the war...but their paths crossed and they were able to see each other on this day.

I am sure it was so good for both of them to see one another, share a hug, some smiles and probably updates from family back home.

Grateful for both of them! Grateful for all of our Veterans!

Happy 5th Birthday Mae Joy Creative!!!

Wow...5 years! God is so Good and He is so Faithful!

This past year saw Him do more than I could have ever dreamed. More partnerships, more ministry opportunities, more new friendships in ministry, more and more of seeing His hand in and through Mae Joy.

This year also saw a dream come true. Before there was even the name Mae Joy Creative, I had a dream of seeing my whole family serving together with this new company. Everyone has served at different times, but this year saw us serving together, on the same weekend, at the same ministry event. What a true blessing!

I am excited to kick off this new year of Mae Joy Creative by traveling to Nashville to serve with 3 different partners this week! God is SO Good!

Thank you to so many for your prayers for Mae Joy Creative as we partner with churches and ministries! Thank you God for continuing to bless Mae Joy over and over again! Grateful to be on this journey with You!

It is so important to hide God's Word in our hearts...so they are with us all the time...at the moment we need them.

I also love hiding songs in my heart. Sometimes simple songs that I have sang since my childhood.

This is one of those songs.

One year ago, in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep...this simple yet beautiful song came to mind. I lay there in bed and softly sang this song and I could feel the presence of my King right there with me.

"...how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Romans 10:15

Last weekend, this girl was commissioned to go and share the Good News! Today...she flies out to GO and TELL!

To say that I am proud of this young lady is an understatement. She heard the call from God and she has said "YES" over and over again...even when it has not been easy. God is going to continue to do big things in and through her...because her heart is on Him and she is following Him wherever He leads!

Will you join me in praying for M as she spends the next 5 months overseas? Will you join me in praying for her family as they send her today?

M - I love you, girl! Praying for you and excited to hear and see ALL that He is going to do in and through you!
