Pinterest shows you the inspiration. It rarely shows you the work required to turn inspiration into an experience.
In preparation for The CASE Collective Conference, we’re deep in the process before the process—studying textures, building color palettes, pulling fabrics, comparing swatches, reviewing samples, creating spatial guides, researching cultural references, developing mood boards, layering textiles, testing materials, refining finishes, and asking over and over again: does every detail belong to the story we’re telling?
Because great experiential design isn’t just about finding beautiful things.
It’s understanding why this texture, why this color, why this material, why this reference, why this placement—and how all of those decisions make someone feel when they finally step into the room.
Before the fabrication.
Before the florals.
Before the furniture.
Before installation day.
Before the reveal.
There is research. There is restraint. There is storytelling. There are 100 tiny decisions nobody will ever know we made.
This is the process before the process.
And this is what Pinterest doesn’t show you.
