❤️ RACHEAL HURST RECOVERY UPDATE — LOOK HOW FAR SHE'S COME!
It has been several weeks since our last update, and we have some wonderful progress to share about Racheal's recovery!
On September 10, Racheal was admitted to the Shepherd Center to begin extensive rehabilitation and physical therapy.
Just two days later, she celebrated a meaningful milestone: getting into a wheelchair and wearing her own clothes again for the first time since the accident.
And she hasn't stopped pushing herself. 💪
On October 1, Casey shared that Racheal completed THREE SETS OF TEN SINGLE-LEG SQUATS during physical therapy!
Thirty repetitions.
Considering everything her body has endured since July 25, that is an incredible accomplishment. Casey was amazed by her strength, and we couldn't be more encouraged by her determination.
Racheal continues to make progress with her mobility, becoming increasingly comfortable using her wheelchair and walker.
So when does she get to come home?
That is still uncertain. The encouraging news is that Racheal is doing very well from a health standpoint. Her rehabilitation team wants to continue working with her so she can return home with as much independence and mobility as possible.
Casey is hoping to spend the first month at home with her when that day comes, helping make the transition easier for Racheal and their children.
🏡 YOUR DONATIONS ARE STILL MAKING A DIFFERENCE
We are also grateful to share that the Atlanta Professional Fire Foundation has now made its third disbursement from this fundraiser.
Thanks to your generosity, we have paid the Hurst family's mortgage for August, September, and October.
Three months of mortgage payments.
Three months of financial relief.
Three months in which Casey and Racheal could focus a little more on healing and family, and a little less on financial uncertainty.
This is exactly the kind of meaningful support your generosity makes possible.
As Racheal prepares for the eventual transition home, there will still be many challenges ahead. But look at these photographs. Look at her smile. Look at the determination.
This is a woman who refuses to stop fighting. ❤️
Please continue to keep Racheal, Casey, Reagan, and Ford in your prayers. 🙏
And please SHARE THIS UPDATE so Racheal's story continues reaching people beyond our immediate community. Every share helps remind this family that they are not walking this road alone.
❤️ Keep going, Racheal. We're all behind you!
