Muscle memory applies to all the muscles, not just the dancing or flipping or bike-riding ones ✏️ Using our eyes, neck, fingers, hands, arms, and shoulders to write (because, yes, it takes all of those things) creates unique series of connected movements. Totally unlike key punching the component alphabetical parts of words using the same repeated motions, disjointed though consecutive.

Unsurprisingly, those unique series of movements engage more of our brains--quicker recall, "photographic" memory, creativity.

πŸ“ 🌈 β˜€οΈ Wow, do doodles help, too! Colors, sizing, styling, illustrations, charts, graphs, emphasis---yes, it can all be done with a mouse, but when done with utensils on paper? Your brain comes alive!

All the better for using it, my dear.

βš™οΈ A tool like paper can help you focus, discover, and embody thought processes in a way that digital life just can't---by virtue of physics, physiology, neurobiology, and a whole host of other learnings about the body that better experts than I can speak to.

Once upon a time, I thought managing my chronic illness could squeeze in between all the other stuff I HAD to do. ⏱ Turns out...

When I started tracking my time, I was wrong. The reason I felt so stressed in managing my schedule? I discovered 23.9% of my waking weekday hours were spent on healthcare.

Time tracking is not just for invoicing. It's for learning about yourself, your habits, your needs and wants--the whole Maslow shebang. You are a whole-bodied person, no matter how much your mind may want to convince you otherwise.

Time tracking doesn't need to be forever: just long enough to answer questions you have, to back up the claims you're making to yourself and your clients, to bring clarity so you can leverage your advantages and accommodate your challenges.

βš™οΈ Using a tool like Harvest can help you capture high-quality data + parse it accordingly. On browser and on mobile, it's always there (just like the ticking clock). It integrates with lots of other fun tools, too, for when your time tracking graduates to people management, invoicing, and more.

Yes, time can flex. ⏳ But...
You can't make more of it: you delete something.
You can't avoid it: it keeps ticking.
You can't double-dip: there's only one body you're in (so far, we'll see where sci-fi takes us).

Treat it like the substance that it is, and you'll find yourself far more productive.

βš™οΈ Using a tool like Calendly can establish guardrails that simultaneously (see what I did there?) help your digital world reflect our actual world, one in which you can only be present at one appointed time, not more, and eliminate "the back-and-forth."
