Story Time‼️ In the mid 2000’s when my career started taking off I made a vow to myself that EVERY special occasion I would start taking my mom to the BEST restaurants that money could buy. We began dinning at the best steak and seafood restaurants in Georgia. I began to noticing my mom was really only excited about what designer bag she was getting as a gift. I also noticed she was not really enjoying the meals. One Mother’s Day came around and she said “Shellord I don’t want all that fancy s**t take me to Red Lobster, but I do want my bag”. 😂
Today it was only fitting that we went to the spot she loved most RED LOBSTER. Waiter can I have “Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, Ceaser Salad (dressing on the side) and can we start with 2 orders of the Cheddar Biscuits PLEASE‼️❤️🌹🪽😢

Marvis D. Simpson you will be missed immensely. The last few days have been heartbreaking since I got the call of your passing. So many fun memories dating back to you giving me a ride to school almost EVERYDAY from East Point to Doug which use to seem so far, to being young graduates deciding to go into the Financial Service arena and follow in the footsteps of my Uncle and your Father.
Our bond grew closer when I started working with your dad at State Farm and I IMMEDIATELY became Dave’s son shortly thereafter! Thank you for sharing him with me at a pivotal point in my professional journey.
I will miss our random calls about “have you seen the new Porsche that came out” and us debating who was going to get one first. I knew I could always count on you for a referral for business every month or me sending you a client who I knew you would take GREAT care of.
The biggest thing I will miss is the call that was simply you asking “So how is life going”.

Tonight we wrapped up our TWENTY FIRST year of doing Taxes and I could not help but reflect on how I got here.
In 2003 I was working as a Financial Planner for Mass Mutual. The manager of our group started recruiting CPA’s and EA’s to the firm and I was asked to mentor them on how to sale products. I befriended a guy named Lateese Ford who helped me establish my tax business and I NEVER looked back.
I have been blessed to be in business long enough to see my clients kids go from dependents to tax clients who now have their own families. I LOVE WHAT I DO❤️

Charles “Lefty” Driesell called his last play at his home in Virginia Beach on yesterday. Coach was much more than a Hall of Fame coach who won 786 games at the Division 1 level. Lefty was a leader of men and I was blessed to play for him and given the keys as a captain along with partner . He taught us to stand tall and take OWNERSHIP not only when things were good but more importantly when they were bad.
My senior season Lefty made my first job offer asking me to join his staff after graduation and coach. When I denied his offer he said, “Shellord I know you will go on to be a terrific businessman and continue to lead”.
We came up a few points short of getting Lefty’s 700th win in an epic battle against Carlos Aroyo and Raja Bell of Florida International University in the Semi Finals my senior season, but he knew we laid it ALL on the line just like he did coaching us‼️🏀❤️🏀

East Point Got Art…Another Project in the BOOKS‼️🎨
July 7, 1984 (When Doves Cry) started its 5 week run at #1 on the US singles chart. It was Princess’s first number 1 single. The song was inspired by his relationship with Susan Moonsie member of Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6.
In 2016 after Princess’s death “When Doves Cry” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #20, and later, back in the top 10 at #8. 🕊️💜🕊️💜

Douglas “Dougie Fresh” Huff was the epitome of what it was to be the COOL UNCLE‼️ My mothers younger brother passed on last night and I could not help but reminisce on the good times we had and him being at every big moment of my life. The night my father past he was there, first/last college game, graduation, housewarming and ALL holidays I knew Unc was pulling up to do his signature dance “The Australian Crawl”.
I know my mom is happy to see you up there. Love you Unc.

2023 has been a year of REFLECTION and ACCEPTANCE. December 2, 2020 at 4:45 pm I received the call from the hospital that my HERO lost her battle to Covid. Literally from that day I worked relentlessly between Real Estate, Taxes and Parks and Recreation business not FULLY processing my mother’s death and the impact it had on me.
As a result I sacrificed my health gaining weight and loosing the energy to juggle all of the businesses I have run for the last 20 plus years. I made the decision on my birthday I would commit myself to getting my mind, body and spirit in alignment and ACCEPTING my new norm.
The sacrifice I made financially with this decision made me TRULY understand the saying “Health is Wealth” and it was the best choice I could have ever made‼️
