In downtown Atlanta, hope now has a new home. This week The Salvation Army Metro Atlanta celebrated the ribbon cutting of its expanded and newly rebranded Center of Hope—an important milestone in its long-standing commitment to serve men, women, families, and Veterans with dignity, care, and opportunity.

This transformative project doubles the facility’s footprint and includes a new Education & Workforce Development Center, along with dedicated space for Veterans and flexible housing solutions designed to evolve with Atlanta’s needs.

Made possible through $35M+ in public and private philanthropic support, this milestone reflects the power of sustained partnership and shared commitment. We’re grateful to stand alongside clients doing work that strengthens communities and expands opportunity right here in our city.

We love our "meet the client" moments. This week, our team went onsite at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to tour the new Arthur M. Blank Hospital, a campaign we were proud to support. Our very own David Eidson and Janine Musholt, president of the Foundation enjoyed a Q&A, and our team saw firsthand the impact of CHOA's $1 billion campaign, Never Settle: A Campaign for Kids, to build the new hospital.

After touring their impressive new facility—and many nuzzles from our newest honorary Coxe Currier, Reggie—we were reminded of why we do this important work, and the power of philanthropy in changing lives. Special thanks to the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and the many generous donors who made this new facility possible for our community.

Thank you, Janine and the entire Children's Foundation team, for your time and continued partnership!

We recently said goodbye and good luck to one of our talented Communications professionals, Paige Sullivan, who joined the team at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. Paige helped us usher in a new brand and new voice and contributed to many client endeavors during her years at our firm. We’re proud of the chapter she helped write with us and look forward to seeing her contributions at another great Atlanta team. Best wishes Paige and thank you!

We often talk about the ways our clients are creating a legacy of impact, but this time we're shining a spotlight on one of our own. Jill Vaysman recently wrapped up an 18-year tenure with Coxe Curry, and while goodbyes are always hard, it was a special opportunity to celebrate her nearly two decades of impact. In addition to guiding our clients with her expertise and care as a director, Jill also thoughtfully trained and fostered the growth of many of our associates, helping them shine in their work. We're wishing her all the best as she charts her next course. Thank you, Jill!

A recent team visit to Sweet Auburn was extra sweet: we met up with client HDDC Community to deliver a board presentation and tour The Front Porch, their latest affordable housing and commercial development in the historic corridor. Thanks to their President and CEO, Cheneé Joseph, we were treated to a few jars of honey from one of their community garden hives! 🐝

It's a bittersweet week as we say goodbye to our team member Madison Hix, but for an exciting reason: she's off to a master's program in world politics and international relations at the University of Pavia in Italy. We're incredibly proud to have been part of her professional journey and see her take on this adventure abroad. Thank you for all that you've done for our team and our clients, Madison. Buona fortuna!

Here we grow again! Beatrice Dankwa has joined the firm as a Researcher on our Research & Analytics team. She most recently served as a Philanthropy Specialist for Major Gifts at CARE, partnering with relationship managers in research, planning, and donor relations and building personalized, mission-aligned experiences for their supporters. In the community, Beatrice is passionate about ensuring students have access to the arts in all their forms—having experienced firsthand how the arts can change the trajectory of a young person’s life—and she annually volunteers with the ArtsBridge Foundation, where she formerly worked as an intern and development professional. We're delighted she's bringing her experience, warm personality, and commitment to our community to the team.

We were thrilled to welcome our friends from the Georgia Historical Society (GHS) for a Social Hour and fireside chat during their recent visit to Atlanta. Dr. Todd Groce, President & CEO, and Christy Crisp, VP of Education and Programs, shared how GHS brings Georgia’s rich history to life through award-winning programs, publications, teacher training, and research services.

Dr. Groce also reflected on his decades of leadership and the transformation of GHS into a nationally recognized educational and research institution. As the U.S. approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, their visit was a powerful reminder that Georgia’s history is made up of a thousand stories that shape us all.

Exciting news: Thanks to generous support from Georgia Power, GHS and fellow CCA client Georgia Public Broadcasting have re-launched Today in Georgia History, the Emmy-winning series that highlights a historical person or event for each day of the year. Refreshed episodes are now airing on GPB TV and radio.

In addition to helping shape the architectural landscape of Atlanta, Tom Cousins demonstrated his commitment to philanthropic impact early in his career.

His inspired transformation of the East Lake community has become a national model for neighborhood revitalization. When Mr. Cousins purchased the struggling East Lake Golf Club in 1993, his vision to restore the course didn't stop at the edge of the green: it embraced a holistic approach to revive and reinvest in the surrounding neighborhood. Over the next decade, he spearheaded a remarkable collaborative effort that included the construction of 542 units of affordable housing, the founding of Charles R. Drew Charter School, the construction of the East Lake Family YMCA, the creation of the East Lake Foundation, and the establishment of Purpose Built Communities—organizations we have proudly partnered with over the years. Today, because of his vision, there are more than 25 Purpose Built Communities across the United States.

Thank you, Mr. Cousins, for your impact and for making Atlanta, Georgia, our country, and our world a stronger and better place.

Nearly 100 years after its opening, the Grove Theatre is taking the stage for another act. Grove Park Foundation, the nonprofit focused on revitalizing the Grove Park neighborhood, has been working since 2017 to convert the theater into a community and arts center that's slated to open in early 2027. This renovation is part of the Foundation's broader $20 million comprehensive campaign to create a healthy, equitable, and vibrant Westside community. Read more about what's in store for Grove Park in Rough Draft Atlanta: https://roughdraftatlanta.com/2025/07/17/grove-park-performing-and-cultural-arts-center/

Grove Park residents can expect the area’s new Grove Park Performing and Cultural Arts Center to be open by the first quarter of 2027.

Now open for walking, rolling, riding, and beyond: the Atlanta Beltline, Atlanta Beltline Partnership, and their partners recently celebrated the opening of Westside Trail – Segment 4. This new section picks up at the existing Westside Trail terminus at Lena Street and continues north to Law Street for nearly 7 miles, linking Pittsburgh Yards in Southwest Atlanta to Huff Road in Blandtown. The segment also runs alongside Washington Park, a vibrant and historically significant neighborhood established over a century ago as one of Atlanta’s first planned Black suburbs, and the recreational park of the same name that remains a community cornerstone. This project makes the Westside Trail the longest continuous segment of the Beltline—a major milestone in the work to complete the 22-mile loop. See you on the trail!
